Information about Francesca

I believe I know what it takes to get the highest marks in exams from GCSE to degree level and I enjoy helping students reach their full potential. As the eldest of eight I have spent my life with and educating young people and I believe there is nothing more rewarding or enjoyable than inspiring young minds.

Very importantly, I am kind, positive and encouraging of all my pupils and believe forming strong and trustworthy relationships is important for the progress and confidence of the pupil, which is something I do very well.

I have a PGCE from UCL`s Institute of Education (ranked number one for education in the world in the QS rankings) and I have teaching experience in several schools across London.

In July 2016, I received my masters in History of Design from the Royal College of Art (named as the number one art and design school in the world by QS rankings) and the Victoria and Albert Museum. I started my masters after graduating from the University of York (consistently top 10 in the country for history) with a History BA with a very high 2:1.

I went to York after gaining 2 A*s and 2 As in my A-levels and receiving over 90% in a large proportion of my examinations (100% in a number of history and politics modules) for all my A-levels as well as in my GCSEs, as I gained 5 A*s and 4 As.

I specialise in medieval history and have written a medieval dissertation on England`s immigrants 1300-1600 and continued my Gothic research to MA level, writing a 30,000 word thesis on Victorian collections in England and Florence. However, I have experience in teaching anything from the Iron Age to present day as well as having been a mathematics, humanities, history of art and art teacher in several secondary schools.

Experience: I completed the Teach First Leadership Development Programme in 2018. After gaining a place on the graduate program I started working in a challenging school in London in September 2016 and taught every year from year 7 to sixth form. As the only history teacher in the school I devised the program of study and taught everything from the Iron Age to modern America.

I then moved on to teach history and maths in an all boys school in West London and now currently work in an outstanding secondary school in Wembley teaching Art, History of Art and History.

Alongside this, I have privately tutored Art, History and Politics as well as home schooling the entire curriculum for several years. I have been a residential tutor internationally and taught students at their homes and my own.
