I am a Cambridge English literature graduate (2.1), graduating in 2010. I have worked for six years as a secondary English teacher, predominantly in the state sector but also in a British private school in Spain. I am now a journalist specialising in education but would be very interested in tutoring students at key stage three, GCSE English language and literature, and A level English literature. I have A level (grade A) in Spanish, history and economics so would also be interested in assisting students with these subjects at GCSE.

Saturday - 9am - 3pm

Experience: From 2011 I worked at Central Foundation Boys` School in Islington, teaching AQA GCSE and A level English language and literature. My GCSE cohorts achieved excellent results - results in 2013-2014 were 98% A* - C. I subsequently worked for two years teaching English literature to CIE GCSE groups at The British School of Barcelona, Spain. Students in my Cambridge A level cohort achieved the highest marks for English literature in the country.

From 2017-2018 I taught AQA GCSE English literature at Holland Park School in Kensington. My top set GCSE English Literature class achieved 50% Grade 9s (A**) with most other grades at 7/A or 8/A*.

I have also worked as a tutor with GCSE students whilst training as a journalist, helping one student achieve a grade 8 (A*) in their OCR GCSE English literature and another student achieve a grade 6 (B) in the Edexcel course. I have taught a wide variety of exam board specifications for both language and literature and would be able to prepare students well for any course.
