Information about Rory
Hi! My name`s Rory, and I`m a Physics PhD student at the University of Manchester. Thanks for checking my profile!
I`m passionate about science and love sharing knowledge - I`ve been tutoring undergraduate and postgraduate university students for 3+ years now, as well as delivering 200+ hours of workshops and outreach activities to ~Y12 students to try and engage young people with science.
I believe that everyone has the potential to do well and excel in STEM subjects, it`s just a matter of finding the right teaching style. I work hard to adapt my teaching to best help the student, and try to make tutorials lively and engaging by focusing on the interesting, fun aspects of the topic. Through this we can chip away at difficult subjects, breaking them down and giving students the confidence in their ability to tackle subjects they might have struggled with before.
I like to be open and approachable - I find it`s the best way to help people learn - and to that end I am more than happy to work with whatever arrangement suits you best or you think would be most beneficial. I will be as responsive and flexible as possible to make sure you get the most out of classes.
