Information about Diane
If you are looking for experience, sound teaching methodology, flexibility, and robust critical thinking, get in touch to arrange a first lesson. I am a Cambridge graduate who has over 10 years of teaching and tutoring experience.
I tailor my sessions to the individual. I specialise in English language and literature at all ages from child to adult. I can also help with goal-setting, learning strategies, essay writing, creative writing, effective communication and public speaking. I can travel to you, within the Cambridge area. In terms of pricing, I can adapt costs for those on a low budget but I aim to ask for a price which takes into account my years of experience and top tier academic attainment.
I graduated in English from Cambridge University in 2005 and then spent another 3 years in postgraduate study, at Masters and PhD level. I spent several years combining teaching with work supporting people with mental health issues, learning difficulties and autism, before helping to establish a small local charity to support homeless people in Cambridge. I worked to manage the operational aspects of writing and editing a magazine of articles written by homeless and ex-homeless people, and supported the beneficiaries to increase their writing skills and confidence.
After this project came to an end I studied for a CELTA qualification which allowed me to enhance my teaching and tutoring skills. Since then I have combined teaching at EFL colleges with private tutoring.

Feedback For Diane (10)
Diane was able to review and respond to the areas that I wanted to cover with her. The lessons were enjoyable and she made a concerted effort to focus on my pain points with my written English. I searched a number of profiles and I felt Diane had the right experience for what I was looking for. I wasn`t disappointed.
I have contacted Diane to help me edit my poems. So far we have had only one session (we agreed that I will contact Diane when I write more poems and reflective stories). The session went very well. Diane read the poems and made some editing suggestions before the class, which I found very helpful. I hope to have more sessions with this tutor.
I thought the best review will always come from the pupil/student. So my 15 year old daughter has carefully considered her response and has said...Diane is highly knowledgeable and I find her lessons engaging. She tailors the lesson to the individual. I feel challenged in a really positive way. From a parent point of view, I am delighted with Diane as a tutor. She is highly recommended.
Excellent. Thank you. Helped significantly with my daughters A level English Lit.
I would recommend Diane. Shes a good teacher
Diane helps my daughter with AS English. I would definately recommend her. Diane is always encouraging, knowledgable and well prepared.
Diane is very friendly and very knowledgeable. Also, she is punctual. My daughter is already improving in her English, feeling more confident in her assessments. We are very pleased with Diane`s tuition.
An excellent tutor and teacher serious, reliable and hard-working.
