Information about David
I have recently taken early retirement but miss the buzz of working with students to get them their best possible A level results.
I`m told I have a good sense of humour and hope to make learning enjoyable but very results driven and determined that the students I teach achieve. I hope that sessions are enjoyable but they will be demanding: I expect a lot of myself and want students to be the same.
Over the years, I have developed a wide range of tutoring styles and am able to adapt to differing needs of students.
Availability: I do not take on many students so I am reasonably flexible.
Willing to travel: 20 miles
Experience: I taught for 25 years, mainly A level with considerable success in a number of subjects. Also went on to become a Head of Sixth form and deputy head before becoming a senior adviser for a LA.
I have been able to be successful across a number of A level subjects because I am basically an exams specialist. I have always taught mainly at the senior end of schools (and for 8 years in a sixth form college). I know how to be successful in exams.
The new A level changes mean that the end of course assessment, which was standard in my early career has returned. I anticipate that my experience with the reversion to an older exam style will be beneficial to my tutees.
