Information about Lela

An experienced, passionate, confident, focused and hardworking qualified science and maths teacher with over 15 years` experience.
Full-time science teacher in a local school.

Committed to safeguarding and promoting the education and well-being of children and young people at all times. I am able to teach students from the primary through to the adult age range whilst at the same time encouraging them to develop their skills, knowledge and confidence.

I possess extensive knowledge of contemporary teaching methods and have immense subject knowledge as well as leadership, communication, ICT, administration skills in addition to a genuine interest in educating others.

I work to establish a supportive relationship with not only students, but also their parents - all with the aim of promoting and reinforcing learners` achievement, independence and self-esteem.

My main aim is to make education enjoyable and accessible to all my learners, with an end outcome of achievement for each learner that I teach.

I have been tutoring since October 2007, and have many successful learners who have achieved top grades and attending top universities.

I am an owner of a successful tutoring business in Thurrock, working within local Primary and Secondary schools providing intervention methods to help raise attainment levels among disadvantaged learners. Aiming to reduce the gaps in learning caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

I aim to make teaching the curriculum enjoyable and accessible to all my learners` by catering to their individual needs. In the initial stages I often assess the learner`s needs and the type of learner by using a variety of resources.

I offer online tutoring services via Skype,Zoom, Teams and Google Classroom/Google Meet, which is just effective as face-to-face tutoring, with a large number of various resources including Powerpoints, video clips/animations, past exam papers and mark schemes, etc.

In addition to teaching live KS3 and GCSE science lessons as a teacher, I have also tutored online students in A-level PE: sports psychology, anatomy and physiology, comparative studies, GCSE maths, and English as a Foreign Language to students in India, Tunisia and Spain.

5/5 Rating

My son was tutored by Lela recently whilst preparing for his Maths Entrance Examination. Lela was punctual in joining the Skype sessions and had a great method of helping my son understand the many elements to algebra that he didn`t quite understand. We were pleased with Chae`s results, and he has found the tuition invaluable going forward in his day to day school work/lessons where he lacked confidence.

Good Quality teaching but does not reply to emails neither does she give back marked homework.

Tutors Response :

Thank you for your feedback.
Each student is given feedback on their strengths and areas of improvement accordingly. Time is also allocated for each student, despite doing the best that I can to ensure that your child gets good quality tuition including providing them with set homework, requests of additional work outside of that time with a high expectation of the work to be marked by the next day is unrealistic.
