Information about Joseph
I have graduated from the University of Cambridge with a high upper second class undergraduate degree in economics and a high first class in my dissertation, and have recently completed an MSc economics with distinction.
Availability: The weekend and evenings during the week.
Willing to travel: 15 miles
Experience: I have experience tutoring individuals applying to study economics at university, with all individuals receiving offers from the institutions they desired. I have also taught numerous students A Level and University level economics.
Through studying economics at the University of Cambridge and my experiences working as an economist, I have developed the ability to explain complex theory in its simplest terms. This is the approach I take to teaching more broadly, ensuring the student has a very solid understanding first of the basics, which I supplement (in the case of teaching economics) with real-life examples, before progressing.
I also tailor my lessons to ensure that I fill in the gaps in knowledge the student I am teaching has, such that they are able to achieve the best possible grades.
I am also a member of the English Junior Chess Team, and have experience teaching chess one-to-one, as well as at a school.
