Information about David
Aa a Cambridge graduate and recently retired Headmaster, I have spent a life time in teaching with experience of exam work at all levels in both private and maintained schools. As Head of History I got outstanding results at both GCSE and A Level and also tutored indicually for exams and university entrance. I have a deep seated respect for History and an enthusiast approach encouraging student engagement. A focused and determined but tolerant manner has enabled me to get the best from both high aiming students and those struggling with the demands of the subject. I can help students believe in themselves and above all my tuition will be interesting.

Experience: Recently retired Cambridge history graduate with 35 years experience teaching GCSE and A Level history. As Headmaster for 17 years I never left the classroom and continued to teach examination classes I also have considerable experience managing university and HE applications.

David is a fantastic tutor, friendly, very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the subject . He very quickly established where my daughter’s strengths and weaknesses were in the subject and now doing a great job of restoring her confidence in the subject with well planned lessons. My daughter has only had a handful of lessons with David so far but she is already feeling more confident, not so overwhelmed with it all.

David is a fantastic tutor whose enthusiasm for his subject is clear. He very quickly established my son’s strengths and weaknesses and is providing him with very focused lessons that are tacking his weaknesses. These have already improved his performance and confidence on exam practice. David always comes prepared with a bespoke plan and each lesson covers a lot of ground.
