Experience: Within the University of Leicester I have been participating in a student led project called Project BODY (four years), during which we aspire to educate children aged between 7-10 about the importance of healthy living. As a co-leader of the project, we firstly created an interactive work-session targeted to this age groups with an eye to educating the children in the importance of healthy diet and exercise. The children are extremely receptive to this work-session, moreover the teachers similarly praised our approach and work-session.
I have also participated in a reading buddy scheme, during which I listened to, and helped young children struggling to read. Initially children struggled however over a period of ten week the improvement in the children`s confidence was remarkable.
I have also tutored part time during my A level studies, helping students in the year below me as well.
My experience, I believe holds in me in good stead for my role as a tutor.
