I have been tutoring a level biology, gcse triple science and a level chemistry for the last five years. I used to teach in a large college in Leicester where I was the head of physical sciences and was the principal examiner.

I prepare each lesson to suit the needs of the student. If the exam is next week I will plan accordingly and am unphased at challenging or difficult situations. The first lesson is spent identifying learning styles and agreeing a plan.

Having been an examiner for ocr and cambridge international exams I’m able to apply my skills in preparing students for their exams recently I helped a student increase his predicted e grade to a b.
I believe in empowerment through education in a relaxed paced environment through mutual respect.

Experience: I graduated in 1980 with a good honours degree in marine biology and biochemistry and took a pgce in chemistry and science in 1981
I taught GCSEs and a level in chemistry biology physics and science until 2001. I then went into education administration as a senior manager until 2014.

In 2014 I went back into teaching chemistry at ks4 and examining for ocr and Cambridge assessment at GCSE and advanced level
I have an excellent record in raising students attainment and improving their confidence.
