Experience: I have been a private tutor (maths, Spanish and English, in person and online, with individuals and groups) for 15 years. Having gained a degree in Pure Mathematics and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education, I became a primary school teacher. My understanding of how to bring out the best in children expanded through my experience of home-educating my own sons from infancy to college level. Following home-education, I studied Neuro-Linguistic Programming to Master Practitioner level, which has enriched my understanding of how we can overcome blocks and maximise our potential, and have worked with many clients. I have taught maths to young people from 6 to 17yrs and to adults, including in adult numeracy classes and I have worked with primary school students needing to improve their English skills and prepare for the 11+ tests and have taught adult literacy clases. I have taught Spanish to hundreds of adults, individually and in friendship groups and adult-ed classes, and to many under eighteens, including some who reached A* at GCSE in one year, with no lessons at school.
