Information about Louisa
With 23 years of teaching experience, I know exactly how to help students improve their confidence in History and prepare them for their final exams. I have an excellent track record of results with all my students achieving or exceeding their target grades.
I am a fully qualified History teacher with a BA in History and a PGCE in Secondary education. I also have 20 years of experience as an examiner.
Availability: I am available from 8am-8pm Monday-Wednesday.

I have taught History for 23 years at Key Stage 3 GCSE and A level. I am passionate about my subject, and I love to see my students` grow in confidence and develop their enthusiasm for History.
As a former Head of Year and Head of Sixth Form I understand how stressful GCSE and A levels are, therefore, it is crucial to understand each students individual needs and ensure that every lesson is individually tailored specifically to them. I am able to quickly identify gaps in subject knowledge and focus my lessons towards this as well as consolidating exam technique.

Louisa has been the perfect tutor for my daughter. She ran a number of sessions covering topics from the History A Level syllabus. We tried a number of other tutors before we settled on Louisa. She runs sessions based on what the student wants and needs rather than working to a set formula.

Louisa has only been tutoring my son for GCSE History since Easter, following a less than expected mock exam result for History. Although we booked double sessions every week leading up to exams (due to how little time there was left), Louisa has managed to cover every module methodically by testing knowledge, filling gaps, and providing revision material whilst working extensively on exam technique. Not only does she have a deep knowledge of the curriculum, she understands what examiners are looking for and her feedback on practice questions makes it easy to see where improvements can be made. My son has walked out of every History exam so far (one more to go this week) brimming with confidence, knowing that Louisa has prepared him well. This is a far cry from the young man who started with her just over 3 months ago. I would not hesitate to recommend Louisa as a tutor, and we are so glad to have found her!
