Information about Emily
Hello! My name is Emily, I am a confident and friendly Fine Art and Art History graduate from Kingston School of Art (graduated in July 2020). I am currently working part-time as an Art Technician and Teaching Assistant in the Art Department at Churchers College, an independent day school ranging from ages 11-18 in Petersfield, Hampshire. I am an exceedingly creative individual with an immense passion for the arts and have several acquired skills in multiple artistic processes. My dedicated practice is abstract painting, I have a small studio in my garden where I paint and work on my commissions. Familiar skills I have developed in other fields of Art & Design include: painting, drawing, collage, mono-printing, digital and analogue photography, pottery and portfolio building in preparation for applications to university or foundation courses. I would love to share my skills further and am keen to help enthusiastic creative individuals strengthen their art practice, whether this be for educational purposes or just as a hobby.

Experience: 2020: Art Technician & Teaching Assistant at Churchers College Senior School, Petersfield.
Since joining Churchers College in September, I have been able to utilise my creative skills in all areas of the schools art department. I have assisted in leading workshops in printmaking and working on a collaborative project spanning over Years 7-9 for The Big Draw (worlds biggest drawing festival), helped upper school students with artist research and carried out exciting presentations informing the pupils on the prospects of studying Fine Art at university. Additionally I have also given personal tutorials to Upper Sixth students helping them with their portfolio applications to art school or creative courses, so far including Architecture at Cambridge and Fine Art at Falmouth University.
2019: Bentalls Public Art Project, The Bentall Centre, Kingston, Greater London.
In May 2019 I competed for, and was selected to, direct a live exhibition inside Kingstons local shopping centre. I spent a weekend painting in front of passers-by hoping to provoke a
conversation with the general public about contemporary painting. Children passing were
invited to join in by painting on the canvases I had prepared prior to the exhibition in our
university workshop. The weekend was successful and resulted in a selection of playful and
collaborative outcomes.
2017-2018: Cygnets Travelling Art School, Richmond, Greater London.
On occasion I have been a teaching assistant in the art classes at Cygnets Travelling Art School, focusing on traditional skills such as drawing, sculpture and painting. My role was to help the children focus and assist them with materials or encourage them to be confident in what they were making.
