Information about Joseph
There has never been a better time to seek expert Maths and Economics tuition. With school and college students missing crucial lesson time and exam practice during this pandemic, most will feel anxious and uncertain about falling behind and not achieving their goals. Now is the time to receive specialised, one-to-one help, allowing students to catch up on content, enhance their ability to think critically, and become confident to tackle any GCSE and A Level exam questions.
As a recent Economics graduate, I have relevant experience of the subject syllabus, and preparation required for GCSE, A Level and Degree Level exams. Students find it easy to communicate with me and are reassured by my thorough, supportive approach. They fulfil their potential by being continually challenged and having their strengths and progress encouraged. Two years of tutoring experience at Kip McGrath Education Centres, showed that no student is the same, so my flexible, adaptable tutoring style is essential to obtain maximum results.

Experience: I am a 2020 University of Nottingham graduate having studied BSC Economics for three years. I specialised in microeconomics, industrial theory, political economy, and international trade as well as writing a 7500-word dissertation on Gender Pay Inequality in China. I competed my A levels in 2017 achieving A*AAA in Maths, Further Maths, Economics and Spanish, respectively.
I worked for two years a tutor at Kip McGrath Education centres, helping students of all ages from 5 to 18 with Maths and English tuition. I tutored English up to KS2, developing key reading and writing skills as well as assisting with SATS preparation. Additionally, I tutored Maths up to AS Level, developing basic arithmetic ability amongst younger students, then preparing students towards KS2 SATS, GCSEs and AS level Exams. I have also tutored privately, providing one-off sessions on demand.
At University, I became a peer mentor in my second year, and continued into my third year, specifically helping first years who were struggling with the maths involved in the course. I also volunteered as a lead welcome mentor in my third year, helping new students to settle into the university during freshers week and protecting their welfare. Furthermore, I participated in the IntoUniversity scheme, mentoring children from disadvantaged backgrounds and providing a positive role model.
