Information about David
I have worked as a qualified General Nurse in operating theatres and intensive care units across the South West for over 25 years requiring full CRB/DBS checks every three years.
As a keen amateur astronomer I have studied Mathematics and Physics with the Open University achieving a Diploma in Mathematics 2012, BSc(Open)2015 and have recently successfully completed a BSc(Hons)Mathematics 2:2.
I have been involved with teaching students GCSE mathematics to enable them to access Nurse training and also helped Nursing Students with Drug Calculation modules during their coursework. I recently spent a week as a voluntary classroom assistant at a local school to gain insight into the school curriculum and teaching methods I am familiar with the new Mathematics curriculum for GCSE foundation and higher levels and Keystages 2 ,3 and 4 As a student myself I feel I can offer a friendly and informal style of tuition as I am only too aware of the challenges that learning Mathematics can present.
Availability: I am available to take on further students for GCSE and A level Mathematics from January 2020.
Willing to travel: 5 miles
Experience: In my role as a Registered General Nurse I have mentored students in Nurse training and have also helped healthcare assistants with GCSE mathematics for access to Nurse training. I have spent time in local schools as a classroom volunteer and also help several students achieve a their target grades in GCSE exams.
