Chemistry and secondary science teacher. I have a huge passion for science and in particular, Chemistry.

I believe that science as a subject has a reputation for being complicated and even boring. I want to change the relationship young people have with science by improving their confidence and motivating them to succeed. To do this, I intend to provide fun, enjoyable lessons that focus on both comprehension and memory of key concepts. I will deploy a wide variety of imagery and practical examples of real world applications of science as well as focus on providing as many practice questions as possible to familiarise them with exam style questions.

By linking the science curriculum to real world examples and demonstrating the practical value of science in dealing with some of the problems our world face, I hope to promote an enjoyment and hopefully a passion for science that has lifelong implications.

Everything I do will be with the individual student in mind, therefore I will take the time to get to know the individual student`s learning style in order to better prepare for our sessions. Their success will be my success.

Availability: Availability over the summer can be negotiated to suit individual pupils and their families.
As a guide:
Monday to Friday: 16:00-20:00
Weekends: To be negotiated.

Willing to travel: 3 miles

Experience: I have a degree in science and Mathematics. I was awarded my Qualified Teacher Status in August 2018 and I am moving into my second year of teaching at a secondary school in Yorkshire. I tutored both A-level and GCSE science in the Summer of 2018.
