Hi, I`m Archi! As a primary school teacher, I am fully DBS qualified. Teaching became a great passion of mine about ten years ago. I used to work in finance before that. After going on school trips with my little sister (big age gap), I soon realised that I would love to do what her teacher does every day rather than what I do for work every day. So off I went to university to gain my PGCE in Primary Education and I have never looked back since! I offer tuition in Maths and English (writing, spelling and grammar) and offer help with reading and homework. I graduated with a Primary Postgraduate Certificate in Education from the University of Greenwich. I also have a 2:1 BA (Hons) Accounting degree from the University of Portsmouth.

Experience: I have been tutoring children for approximately eight years. I have helped numerous children gain confidence and knowledge in Maths and English. I tailor one-to-one lessons to the child`s needs. As a teacher currently working in a school, I regularly assess children`s levels in writing, reading and maths, so I am familiar with the sub-levels between grades and what the children need to learn to achieve the next sub- level up.

My approach to tutoring is relaxed and friendly. My students and I have a chat about what`s going on at school, what they find interesting, what they are able to do, what they find quite tricky etc. This leads to a satisfying and productive lesson for both the student and I.

I like to incorporate a VAK (Visual, Auditory, Kinaesthetic) approach to my lessons so that your child is not just being spoken to all lesson. I have visual aids to help children and where possible, resources that the children can choose and use to help them. This promotes independence and increases your child`s confidence.

I have excellent relationships with all the parents. I take on board their concerns for their child and prepare lessons accordingly. I give good feedback to the parents at the end of each lesson and they have said that they really appreciate these weekly updates on their child`s progress.
