Information about Alexandra
I am a Psychology Graduate from the University of Buckingham. I completed my BSc Psychology degree in 2 years obtaining a 1st Class and being awarded the British Psychological Society membership prize for winning the Best Graduating Student 2014. I have attended psychology conferences, done some tutoring and I am currently working as an assistant clinical psychologist with Oxford NHS. I am 25 but I still have all the skills and knowledge from doing my undergraduate degree as well as my Psychology A-Level by keeping up to date with research. I have also written a research article waiting to be published.
Availability: Weekends and Mondays.
Willing to travel: 15 miles
Experience: I have tutored undergraduates in Psychology in research methods and statistics as a covering lecturer and have been a private tutor to 5 BSc Psychology students, 2 MSc Psychology students and 2 A-Level students helping them to develop report writing skills for assignments and dissertations, understanding of theoretical knowledge and its application, and preparing for exams and presentations.
I am very friendly, open-minded and relaxed. I have helped quite a few people who have been struggling with academic psychology and have always been told I would make a great lecturer. I am very patient and calm with people where age of the student makes no difference to me. I am very understanding and I truly believe that everyone has the ability to do well but only once they know the skills to put into practice. I do enjoy helping others and seeing them progress. Having been put down by others in the past, I understand what it is like to really try to do well but not have the grades to show it. However, I managed to keep trying and show people that I can achieve. This is what I love to see in others. So if you feel like you really want to and do already try to but are currently struggling to understand psychology at either GCSE, A-Level or degree level or just out of pure interest, I would be delighted to help you turn things around :)
