Information about Lisa

I`m a highly qualified primary and secondary school teacher with over fifteen years of experience across all age groups.

I have experience working with students from primary level who need additional support with reading and literacy, all the way to supporting GCSE students in English Literature. I also have experience and confidence in working with students with additional learning needs such as learning difficulties; dyslexia; cognitive delay; and ADHD.

I`m currently teaching in a primary school in North London and secondary school in Muswell Hill working with students who are deaf and am completing my Level 3 in British Sign Language.

I have a real passion for helping children learn in the most fun way possible! I enjoy building confidence in every child I work with by creating a tailored programme which will allow them to achieve success. I have a particular passion for Literacy in particular phonics and reading in primary and written expression / essay writing in secondary.

In my first session, I will complete a short learning styles assessment to help me design a tailor made tutoring programme for your child.

My fee is £45 per hour for home visits. A reduced rate is available for sessions occurring in local spaces such as libraries or if you are willing to travel to my home in Crouch End. I`m happy to travel within in distances 3 miles of Crouch End, Highgate and Muswell Hill.

Please do feel free to get in touch and ask any questions you may have.

Looking forward to working together.

Lisa

My 9 year old son is dyslexic, and has problems with processing. Lisa has been teaching him for the last nine months and has made a huge impact on his confidence and his understanding and enjoyment of English. She tailors her lessons each week according to what he needs, uses lots of varied creative materials and techniques in her teaching and clearly `gets` the way he learns. He says her sessions are `loads of fun` and we regularly see him putting her teaching into practice. We are very lucky to have her support and expertise and can recommend her most highly.
