Hi! my name is Zohra. I am currently studying Medicine at Cardiff University.

I tutor both A-level/ GCSE biology and medical school preparation/ personal statements.

Through completing my A-levels and studying Medicine at university I have a thorough understanding of Biology, making me fully equipped to teach both A-level and GCSE Biology. I help students successfully cover the syllabus and reach their full potential by continuously testing them on the content. My expertise is in AQA Biology specifications but I can also tutor other exam boards.

I remember being an A-level student myself not long ago and finding the medicine application process extremely daunting. This is where I would like the opportunity to pass on what I`ve learnt through my medical school interviews and as a medical student to you. I received interviews from Imperial, UCL and Cardiff and got offers to study medicine from all 3 universities. Having been through the process myself I know how to help students effectively prepare for interviews in order to perform their best.

Experience: GCSE Science and A-level Biology:
I have successfully tutored many students in GCSE science and A-level Biology throughout the last 2 years. I have experience with both AQA and Edexcel Specifications. I let students guide me towards topics they struggle with, analyse the students weaker topics and help clarify and improve their understanding. I solidify this learning by extensively using practice questions. I ensure my teaching is very interactive and try to involve the student in their learning throughout the lesson. In my experience, students learn best when you keep them engaged by asking questions, finding out what they already know, and building on this knowledge.

Medical School Applications:
I will structure lessons personalised to the individual I am teaching. The first few sessions will be spent teaching important interview techniques through resources I have curated myself. I will also tell students how to prepare for future sessions to get the most out of each session. As the student gains more confidence, I will perform mock interviews. These will help students gain confidence and refine their interview techniques. The overall goal is to help students successfully prepare for their interview and go in with confidence. This will be achieved through personalised lesson plans depending on the type of interview the student needs to prepare for.
I can help prepare for both MMI`s and panel interviews, having been through both myself.
