I am an experienced A level biology teacher providing friendly and supportive tutoring to help improve your understanding and exam technique in biology. I tutor both A level and GCSE students and have worked at the largest Outstanding Sixth Form College in Manchester for over 10 years. I tutor a range of different specifications (e.g. AQA, WJEC, EDUQAS and OCR). I specialise in helping students develop excellent exam technique, where you can approach new questions on exam papers with confidence and a clear logical approach to writing answers. The tutoring sessions are detailed, engaging and tailored to your particular needs as a biology student. I cover both A level topics and GCSE topics. Prior to being a biology teacher. I have worked in genetics research on the human genome project, at Manchester Institute of Biotechnology on genetics of keloid disease and also for pharmaceutical companies researching and developing new drugs for diseases such as Alzheimers disease, Cancers and ALS.
Availability: Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday between 9am and 4pm during the summer holidays 2023.
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings after 6pm during term time.
Saturday mornings from 10am to 12pm (mid-day) during summer holidays and during term time.

Experience: Over 10 years of A level biology teaching. AQA, WJEC, EDUQAS, OCR experience. I have examined for WJEC and EDUQAS A level Biology exam boards and have helped thousands of students through successful Biology A level exams who have achieved excellent results. I also tutor prospective medicine, dentistry and veterinary science applicants through UCAT and BMAT university entry exams and help with Personal statement checking. Prior to teaching, I have been a researcher in genomics and in the pharmaceutical sector, investigating the pathogenesis of various diseases including Alzheimer`s disease, Cancer and Keloid disease. I have previously worked at the The Sanger Institute in Cambridge on the Human Genome Project and at The Manchester Institute of Biotechnology as part of The University of Manchester. I endeavour to use this scientific knowledge to make A level biology teaching more inclusive of contemporary topics and introduce many different aspects of biological research.
