Information about Lloyd
Sumai :) I`m Lloyd, a born and raised Welsh lad from Buckley, recently graduated from St. Olaf College in Minnesota, USA. I`m an experienced Welsh language and literature tutor where I emphasise a holistic approach to Welsh language study regardless of experience level - absolute beginners are warmly welcome. I teach the language contextually by weaving the historic, linguistic, cultural, and political which makes learning more engaging, providing a real depth to language study. Classes are set to your schedule, pace, interests, and goals. Learning a language can be tough but I will support you every step of the way and am easily contactable should you need assistance outside class sessions. I`m an easy-going tutor with a real passion for my language and those who wish to speak the "Heniaith" (ancient language). I`m extremely sensitive as to how anxiety can influence a student`s ability to learn, and I`m committed to ensuring that we learn in a comfortable and relaxed online learning environment; students lead the way in terms of pace and homework. With that, I will strive to ensure you learn something in each lesson; even when life may pose additional challenges and your language journey becomes strenuous. Drop me a message and I`ll get back to you as soon as I can. Hwyl am y tro, Lloyd
Availability: I am very flexible and happy to suit lessons to your schedule.
Willing to travel: 30 miles
Experience: I hold a B.A in Race, Ethnicity, and Multiculturalism from St. Olaf College in Minnesota, USA, undertaking classes researching the Welsh diaspora.
Outside Wales, I have lived in Wales, eSwatini, South Africa, Japan, U.S.A., and China, and have taught many students from each nation. As such, I am particularly experienced in teaching students from outside Wales, although those from the Mamwlad (mother country) are very welcome too. I can teach absolute beginners up to A-Level.
