Information about Colin

I am 50 years old, happily married with 4 children (18 year old twins - girl and boy, a 10 year old son and a 5 year old daughter). My family is the most important thing to me, everything I do I do for them
My other passion is sport, particularly rugby, football and cricket. Nowadays I cycle (too much according to my wife!), coach Rugby at Canterbury RFC to my youngest sons age group (U11`s) and go to the gym.
I have been teaching for 18 years, working with students of all ages through the Key Stages (1-5).
Prior to teaching, I worked in shipping and forwarding until the single European market came into effect in 1993.

Availability: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 5pm until 9pm
Saturday mornings (9am-12noon) and Sunday afternoons 2pm until 6pm
I currently tutor Tuesday 6-8pm so this spot is not availabile.

Willing to travel: 10 miles

Experience: I have been teaching for over 18 years.
I currently teach Key Stage 3 and GCSE Maths at Foundation and Higher levels. I also teach Key Stage 3-5 Physical Education as a core and examined subject.
I am in my third year of tutoring on a 1-2-1 basis. I have worked with students at Key Stage 3, working to develop understanding of mathematical concepts and problem solving. I have helped one student to pass the entry examinations of a very popular, oversubscribed grammar school.
I have also tutored students working towards their GCSE maths C grade. Again I have enjoyed success with students gaining the all important C grade, some of whom`s starting points were F grades.
I have also worked with mature students who need to gain their GCSE in maths in order to progress in to further or higher education.
I have found that for many students, it is a lack of confidence and belief in thier ability.once this is developed, I find students progress at a far greater rate.
If you choose to use my services, the first session is free-this is to make sure your child, or you, are comfortable working with me.
