Information about Hannah

Raised by two teachers I have always believed in the importance of education and have always taught alongside whatever else I have done in my life and career.

I studied English Language and Literature at the University of Oxford and since then have been working as a English and Physics tutor in Bristol and London. In whatever subject I am teaching I believe passionately in the importance of hardwork and instilling my pupils with a love of learning and the accumulation of knowledge for its own sake and to enrich the individual, not merely to pass exams. I try to pass on to my students my own drive and belief in always achieving the best of which you are capable. I try to achieve this by forging a personal but professional relationship with those I teach so that learning is a pleasure not a chore.

When not teaching I work as an actor and try to bring to my teaching some of the passion for language which that career inspires in me. After studying my second degree at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, I now also offer acting and theatre tuition of various forms.

My interest in Physics has always run alongside my love of words, and despite taking an arts degree, I still managed to bring Physics into my undergraduate study I ultimately wrote my dissertation on the intersection between Physics discoveries of the 1970s and postmodern literature in America in the same period.

I love teaching and always embrace the new challenges it throws at me.
