Information about Subhayan

I have been in education all my life. After completing five A-levels (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English) two years early, I earned my first Bachelor`s degree in Biomedical Science from King`s College by the age of 19. After this I worked in an independent Sixth-form college for a number of years and completed a sixth A-level in Further Mathematics before returning to university to earn my second Bachelor`s degree in Mathematics, this time from University College London. I am now a full-time private tutor in the Edgware area. I specialise in the 11+ and 13+ Common Entrance examinations, as well as GCSEs and A-levels.

Availability: I fully recognise that I may not be the ideal tutor for every student - which is why the first lesson with me is free IF the student decides not to continue with me. All group lessons take place at my home so you will have to travel to me. Please note I do lessons in groups of 2 or 3 students, and charge £25/hr for Year 9 and below, £30/hr for GCSE, and £35/hr for A-level students. One to one lessons and home visits are available from £65/hr.

Willing to travel: Home Only

Experience: Having been a personal tutor for fifteen years, I am accustomed to dealing with students of varying needs and abilities. I have taught the syllabi of all major examination boards (Edexcel, AQA, OCR, WJEC) in all the subjects I offer. Over the years, I have helped many of my students gain entry to courses such as Medicine, Pharmacy, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, and Management. I have also extensively taught the syllabus for the 11+ and 13+ Common Entrance exams in English, Maths, and Science - several of my students are now at schools such as Eton, Harrow, Tonbridge, St. Paul`s, or Latymer.
I take a personal approach based on the student`s needs. Whether it`s schoolwork, coursework, or exam preparation - I agree a flexible plan with the tutee with clearly set targets. I set homework every lesson and as a rule provide feedback. I also offer an "always-available" service as standard, where tutees are welcome to contact me via instant messaging if they require help outside of the lessons. The service I provide does not begin and end in the lesson; instead, my students know they can rely on me at any time for whatever help they require: I frequently help students with university advice, and assist them in writing their personal statements.
