Experienced Professional Computer Science A-level/GCSE teacher and programmer of Apple iPhone apps. I can teach you to code and how to pass the exams and coursework to get top grades.
I have been programming computers since I was 12 teaching myself BASIC. Since then I have learned lots of other languages, developed websites, apps and games. Coming from a family of teachers, I feel I have an ability to empathise and understand students needs and I have the patience to sit with them until they understand.
My first approach is to sit with the students and work out what their goals are. What do they know, where do they want to get to. I then aim to identify their areas of expertise and areas that need development and work on a learning plan with them. When it comes to teaching programming I am patient, clear and use relatable examples to explain complex topics. I also give students (fun) homework to practice coding and the topics we have covered.

Weekends I’d prefer in the late morning, if at all. Everyone needs a break!

The last 19 years, since graduating I have been working as a professional developer, creating apps, websites and games. I have recently got into teaching A-levels and Computing subjects in a 6th Form college`s since 2020. I have helped all my A-Level and Computing students achieve grades way above their predicted ones. Also, I have ran adult boot camps in IOS app development, with the App Academy in Amsterdam, and website development with Code institute.
