Information about Rachel
I am currently a Head of Department (Geography) at a local secondary school in Southampton and I am currently looking to take on a small amount of tutoring.
My aim is to teach through making geography inspiring and relevant. I will ensure that I teach to the skills and ability of the student so that they achieve their maximum potential every session. I believe that every student has the capability of achieving beyond their potential if they put in the hard work and understand the skills required to sit a Geography examination.
Availability: Most evenings and some weekends (tbc)
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: I have been teaching for 7 years and a Head of Department for 4. I have experience of a range of exam boards:
AQA
Edexcel
WJEC
IGCSE
I completed a degree in BA Geography at The University of Exeter and since, a PGCE at Swansea University - where I am from - before coming to Southampton to live.

Son is finding Rachel’s sessions very helpful. Rachel is approachable, encouraging and has very good teaching skills. Hopefully the extra knowledge and skills will help son achieve his full potential. I would recommend Rachel to anyone who is looking for a geography tutor.

Fantastic teacher and lovely lady. My daughter learnt a lot from Rachel really quickly and started to enjoy the subject after time with Rachel. Rachel really knows her stuff and takes time to teach the right approach to exams and learning to improve confidence. Cannot recommend her highly enough.!!

Rachel is an inspirational tutor and has totally reinvigorated my daughter`s interest in her subject. Always conscientious, punctual and thoughtful in her approach, she encourages my daughter with engagement in the lesson and reassurance. Highly recommend!
