Information about Sophie
I am a fully qualified teacher of Secondary Maths. I have experience of teaching KS3, GCSE and A-level Maths and GCSE Statistics. I have a patient, laid back approach and a real passion for the subject of Maths.
I have marked GCSE exam papers for Pearson/Edexcel for the past 4 years. This has given me a deeper understanding of exam mark schemes and allowed me to develop teaching strategies to help students maximise their marks and avoid common mistakes.
I would be happy to tutor KS3, GCSE or A-level Maths.
Availability: I am currently available for online sessions.

Experience: I am currently working as Maths Key Stage 4 Lead at a secondary school where I have responsibility for students` progress and attainment at GCSE. I have over 10 years of experience teaching in schools, including teaching GCSE Statistics and Level 3 Core Maths, as well as KS3 and GCSE Maths.
During my time teaching I have worked as Key Stage 5 Coordinator, and completed a course in Teaching Advanced
Mathematics. I have also mentored trainee teachers. I am currently training to become a Secondary Mastery Specialist.
I have also worked in a Secondary Academy as an intervention tutor where I taught personalised lessons to small groups to try to fill identified gaps in their knowledge and help improve their understanding of topics.
Before completing my teacher training in the UK I taught English as a second language for a year in South Korea.

Sophie is an absoloutely lovely person and fantastic teacher! She tutored me for a year for my GCSEs, and I have learnt so much. Very professional, kind and understanding. Reassuring, friendly and personabe. Really would recommend her. My confidence has increased greatly with her calm, patient and supportive demeanor. Her tutoring undoubtly had a huge impact on my grades and my understanding of maths. Thank you so much Sophie!

Sophie has given my daughter the confidence she needed to face her GCSE maths. She is friendly , personable and punctual. She is well prepared each session and has an excellent understanding of new maths grades etc which helped my daughters anxiety. Would highly recommend her !!

Sophie is a lovely Tutor, she made my daughter so comfortable and relaxed while studying for her Maths GCSE. I noticed my daughter gain so much more confidence. I Would highly recommend Sophie to anyone looking for a tutor. My daughter has really enjoyed learning with her from day 1.
