Information about Tomos
Hi my name is Tom and I am available to help with various aspects of Programming, Computer Science and IT/Technology in general.
I am an enthusiastic, friendly individual with a passion for programming and Computer Science. My interest in programming started over 10 years ago, aged just 14.
I am able to help with Computer Science related assignments and projects, at GCSE, A-Level and Degree level. I can also assist with teaching concepts or going over syllabuses or concepts where you feel extra help would be beneficial.
As somebody who has been tutored in the past, self-taught myself some programming, and been through traditional classroom based teaching, I understand that everybody’s learning style is different and that a personal one-on-one approach can be extremely beneficial to students. I am adaptable in terms of teaching style, and change my teaching style and structure of teaching according to the needs of my students. I appreciate the importance of setting achievable goals so that students can see they are making progress, and are motivated to continue learning!
Availability: Weekday evenings (6PM onwards). Weekends can be either morning or afternoon.

Experience: I first started programming over 10 years ago, so I have a large amount of experience. I have a BSc in Computer Science and Mathematics from the University of Bath, graduating three years ago. I currently work in IT, performing software development and IT support for a large international company in the City of London.
Specific programming/computer science experience: Python, Java, PHP, Javascri pt, HTML, Databases, Linux/Unix, Web servers (Nginx/Apache).

I needed to get a Linux overview quickly and got in touch with Tomos. He was really flexible and was well prepared for the lesson, his approach to teaching the subject was excellent and he took the time explaining the basics.I`d highly recommend him if you need a tutor.

Tomos helped me teach some issue that I was having with my uni`s project. Even before the lesson starts, he has already found the solution for the problem and he taught me how it works and how to apply it during the lesson.
He was very knowledgeable about javascri pt, and I`m very satisfied with the lesson.

Tomos was extremely helpful in my Python lesson. He was really thorough and patient when explaining things I didn`t understand, and helped me to learn new things through application. I felt very relaxed and did not feel embarrassed to ask any `obvious` or `stupid` questions.
I especially appreciated that Tomos preprepared for our lesson, so no time was wasted at the beginning to explain what I wanted to do and where to start.
I would 100% definitely recommend Tomos as a tutor!
