I completed my PhD in Chemistry Science and I have been working and lecturing in different research centres and universities for the last 10 years. This has provided me with the experience to know the learning issues that students deal with every day. Additionally, I have been training in the Associate Fellow Scheme at the University of Kent aimed to learn teaching skills to encourage and motivate students in both the classroom and 1-to-1.

Experience: I have engaged in numerous Mentoring workshops to assist PhD students dealing in writing their thesis. Through my experience of mentoring and tutoring I have cultivated the skills of active listening, providing corrective feedback, and formulating sessions to inspire and educate in various disciplines of Chemistry. I believe my tutoring in the past has given students the confidence that they need to successfully pass their exams. My teaching philosophy is that a successful tutoring session must be well-structured with clear expectations but must also engage students in the learning process. This requires a balance of quantitative and theoretical material with conceptual illustration. I provide guidance based on my own experience, but giving them space to reflect and develop their own analytical and research skills. I offer support to get the best marks in GCSE and A-levels Chemistry in order to progress on to University, employment or higher apprenticeship options.
