I am an extremely experienced current teacher of Psychology and Sociology based in Brislington, Bristol.

I put assessment at the forefront of my teaching and ensure that this is a consistent feature of my sessions, whether class teaching or one-on-one tuition. Understanding the requirements of a question, assessment objective and examiner is a crucial skill that is so often overlooked.

I currently mark both A level Psychology and Sociology for AQA, which gives me a unique insight into what examiners are looking for and I use this to inform my own strategies for teaching and assessment.

I believe in tailoring each session around an individual student`s needs and ensuring that both they and I have a clear idea of what we are working towards and how we are going to achieve it.

One of the biggest factors in achieving success is having a positive working relationship with your teacher and/or tutor and I always recommend that we meet before you commit to anything. This gives us the opportunity to discuss individual needs, targets and aspirations. There is, of course, no charge for this initial meeting and no commitment to further tutoring - you need to know that we can work together!

Availability: Most week nights, some weekends and various availability during school holidays. I will always try to ensure we can find a time that suits the needs of a student.

Experience: I have been teaching for 10 years. I have taught AQA A level Psychology for 8 of those and AQA Sociology for 5 years, consistently gaining outstanding results. I am also currently teaching WJEC Criminology and am happy to offer support in this area.

In my previous role I was head of the Social Sciences (including both Psychology and Sociology) faculty at a hugely successful inner city Birmingham school. I have now relocated to Bristol and am Head of Sixth Form in addition to line managing the Social Sciences across our academies.

I am a current examiner for AQA for both Psychology and Sociology A level, which has provided an invaluable insight into what it is that exam boards are looking for and the mistakes that students all too often make.
