Information about James
I am an undergraduate student at the University of Cambridge where I am in my final year studying for a BA in Spanish and French.
My prior academic qualifications include 3 A*s at A-Level in Spanish, French and English (Language and Literature), as well as an A in AS Maths. At GCSE, I achieved 9 A*s and 2 As in Maths, English Literature, English Language, Mandarin Chinese, Latin, Spanish, French, Biology, Physics, Chemistry and Religious Studies.
In my spare time I enjoy running and taking part in student theatre. I also love cinema and TV and I read as much as I can, which is hard when I have so much to read for my degree!
As a conscientious and high-achieving student myself, I look forward to sharing my top tips for success in GCSEs and A-Levels.
Availability: It varies from week to week, but I am generally free in the evenings and on weekends and can be quite flexible.
Willing to travel: 8 miles
Experience: In the summer of 2015, I spent two months as a camp counsellor in an overnight camp for children aged 7-16 in Michigan. This role involved planning and leading classes in a range of activities, which gave me invaluable teaching experience. I particularly enjoyed working with the children aged between 12 and 16 as I think that is such a crucial and formative time for teenagers who are learning so much about the world, and I loved being part of that.
Since being at university, I have also accompanied my sixth form`s French school trip as an assistant, which allowed me to help some of the students with their spoken language skills.
