I have recently taken (early) retirement but as I love teaching children, I am continuing to do some home tutoring. I particularly enjoy teaching children individually as I can use a wide range of practical activities, games and role-play to maintain the child`s interest. This has led to pupils showing proven levels of improvement both in their confidence as well as greatly enhanced progress in the classroom. The less confident tutees also enjoy, and benefit from, being taught in their own home.
I also have a TEFL qualification and have started teaching English, as a second language, to adults.
I have now moved to the Isle of Wight and hence am only offering tutoring on the island.

Availability: I am available during the day (for home-schooled children or adults) and some slots available after school.
Sessions tend to be 50-55 minutes long followed by evaluation and feedback with child and parent.
My sessions cost £23 but extra will be added for travel of 3-10 miles (up to £25 max.)

Experience: I have over thirty years experience teaching in Primary schools when I taught all subjects but with particular responsibility and interest in Maths. For the last years of my teaching career, I was a One to One tutor for four days a week, in an Essex school, and since retiring early, I have been a successful private tutor, a role that I have really enjoyed with notable success. I also have a Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) qualification.
