She is not adequate for children as she didn`t know how to manage the clase, keep my sons attention and be firm when needed.

Tutors Response :

Dear Teresa,

Your son is 3 years old and by the time I came in for my first 1 hour lesson he was just finishing his 1 hour cello lesson and was very tired and distracted.
Without any break you told him that he had to now play the harp. You and your husband kept telling him that he must concentrate and practice and after seeing that treatment I simply didn`t want to be "firm" with him as he is so little and I do not believe in the teaching method of being rude to a 3 year old child. I tried using a more game-like approach but nevertheless he was too tired to concentrate and for the first lesson it`s already not easy to establish a connection with a very small child who just moved to a new country and who is forced to practice 3 instruments by the age of 3. Most importantly he didn`t want to do the lesson.
I teach children of all ages and children younger than 6 can never take lessons longer then 30 minutes especially on harp and shouldn`t be forced into it.
Even adult students can find it difficult to do 2 hours of music without a break but a three year old just shouldn`t be forced into doing so and I left your house with a feeling of unease and felt really sorry for your son. Your review simply isn`t justified. I currently have 12 students - both children and adults and have never in my life been given a negative review or feedback before.

Valeria is very knowledgeable in the subject, easy to talk to and patient.
She is always positive and cheerful and gives me feed-back and suggestions on how to improve my playing and also to facilitate learning.
