Katie

Hello, my name is Katie. I am a tutor of Maths and all the Sciences. I have been tutoring for over six years and have experience of most exam boards. I also work as a Teacher of Chemistry at an prominent independant school in Oxford. I am friendly and approachable, and extremely patient. I enjoy a challenge, and will always push to get the very best out of myself and others in the most applicable way possible.

At GCSE I achieved 10A*`s and went on to study Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry and Biology at A Level achieving AAAA. I then took up a place at Oxford University to study Chemistry and I graduated with an MChem in 2016.

I come from a very sporty background and feel this aids to my fun and organised approach to tutoring.

I adapt my tutoring style to suit the needs of the student. Guided discovery of your own learning style is much more effective than feeling shoehorned into a style that is not benefitting you. I ensure that not only the content of the subject is covered by also help with exam technique and confidence, which most commonly are the issues halting success.

I am passionate about Maths and all the Sciences and would love to share my enthusiasm with you.

Experience: I have spent six years tutoring students Maths and Science/s at both GCSE and A-Level, and two years as a classroom teacher in at prominent independent schools in Oxford. As part of my studies at Oxford University, I have supervised final year Masters students and summer placement students. I have also worked at a Junior demonstrator in the undergraduate chemistry labs, helping students learn practical chemistry in the first three years of their degree. I have also helped with summer sports camps and I am a qualified UKA Athletics Coach.
