Information about Jai
Hi! Im Jai and I am a 5th year Medical Student at Imperial College London. I am a fun and friendly person who is looking forward to assist students in their learning. I taught myself AS-level Mathematics and took the exam one-year early, and this made me value and appreciate the importance of having someone to provide support and share knowledge with, which I believe is central to tutoring. I studied Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Psychology at A-Level, achieving 2A*s and 2As. In my free-time I enjoy playing sport such as Basketball, as well as reading, watching movies, and also voluntary work for charity.
Availability: I am mostly available in the mornings and afternoons on the weekend, and can schedule in times during the weekday. I can tutor in the home or online for 1-2 hours.
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: Having planned and delivered lectures explaining medical concepts and teaching examination skills, this experience enables me to structure sessions appropriately and tailor my teaching style and content as to challenge students in a relaxed learning environment to maximize their potential. This has gained positive feedback and improved student`s confidence in subjects which are otherwise challenging. I have also helped fellow colleagues in their subject areas understanding a variety of concepts, and it brings great pleasure to help others in understanding a previously difficult topic
I like to keep a flexible structure to my sessions as every student is unique in their style of learning. By knowing the desired topic to teach prior to the session, this enables me to prepare thorough learning aids and past paper questions for the students. I also believe focusing on topics students are less confident in is key as not only will this improve their knowledge, but also confidence in their exams.
