I am an experienced teacher across most subjects in the humanities and social sciences. I have been teaching for 7+ years. I am programme leader for a BA Sociology with Criminology course in the UK and have many years experience teaching sociology at degree level and Access/A Level. I have had a love for sociology since the age of 16 and studied A-level Sociology, History and government and politics at the Manchester College. After this, I completed a degree at Manchester Metropolitan University in History and Sociology.

I am a fully qualified teacher, having gained a PGCE from the University of Huddersfield.

I love my job as a teacher and have been very lucky to bring my enthusiasm for education to many different jobs and roles. I have experience as a teaching assistant in a high school, helping pupils in all age groups and in most subjects. I also worked for AimHigher for a year where I provided children in year 10 with information about further and higher education.

Availability: I am available week nights and Sundays during term time. I am flexible with availability during school holidays.

Experience: I am currently teaching numerous adult courses at a successful college, where I have worked since 2013. I am programme leader for BA Sociology with Criminology and have other HE teaching experience (BA Cultural Studies/Foundation Social Policy). I have also taught level 3 in Sociology and Criminology. Other courses I currently teach include Level 2 Sociology (GCSE equivalent). I have a broad subject knowledge in the humanities and can also support students studying Social Policy and Education Studies - both of which I have taught at Level 3 (a-level and Access) and level 4 (foundation degree).

I am available to support students with other areas of their education including UCAs applications, essay writing skills, referencing and revision techniques. I have lots of resources that will be helpful to students that I am happy to share!
