Information about Andrew
I enjoy teaching and helping students to discover and learn, taking great pride in those `Eureka` moments, when students realise they can do something they had previously thought was unachievable.
I have spent 5 years teaching business at level 3 and level 2 standard and enjoy the challenge of explaining some of these complex business models to students.
Having lived in Bristol for 7 years, I have recently moved back to Somerset (where I grew up) with my young family, so know a lot of the primary and secondary schools in and around Bridgwater/Taunton.
I feel that Business, Maths and English are easier to understand when they are made relevant and functional, therefore, I try to ensure examples and tasks are as `real life` as possible.
Availability: Weekday evenings 6-9 and occasionally at weekends
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: I have been working with young people for over 15 years, mainly focussing on Business, Maths, English and Personal Development qualifications.
I teach Maths and English up to level 2 (GCSEs/Functional Skills) and am happy to work with any age range.
I have a PGCE and subject specialism qualification in maths at level 5.

Andrew helped tutor my daughter, Paige, in GCSE business studies at the start of 2022 for 4-5 months. Before the lessons started via teams, Andrew come to our home to meet Paige in person which I felt was very considerate and a nice way to get to know her and where her understanding of the subject was. Paige also felt this was beneficial as it made her feel a lot more at ease before starting. The main feedback from Paige herself was she really felt Andrew thoroughly explained things and always checked her understanding, especially when assigning home tasks. Paige felt confident in Andrew and he was also sure to take things at her pace. Andrew was also thorough in understanding what the school was expecting Paige to cover for her exams and even spent some time before her exam to run through a practice paper. At times my daughter has struggled with anxiety in school but she commented feeling very relaxed during lessons with Andrew. Paige all in all felt alot more prepared and confident to tackle her exam in BS thanks to Andrew. Thank you Andrew!! All the best Zoe
