I am a friendly, caring and professional person who would relish the opportunity to help and guide young people with their education. I have a degree in English Literature from the University of Newcastle as well as several years` experience of working in schools, in various capacities. I earned my PGCE in Secondary English from the University of Cumbria in 2013. In 2020 I became a qualified SENCO and I have a lot of experience working with students with additional needs.

Having tutored for the past 6 years, I have a proven track record of improving results. I mainly offer tuition for English, as this is my specialism; however I also have an A Level in History and could therefore offer help with this subject up to GCSE level. I would be happy to tutor a pupil in English at any stage of their education, although the main bulk of my experience is with students in the 11-16 range (Key Stages 3 & 4).

Experience: I am currently employed as a Teacher of English at local special needs high school. I have been a qualified English teacher for the past 8 years. Prior to that I worked as a Learning Support Assistant and regularly ran 1:1 and small group intervention sessions which focused on Literacy skills.
