I am a very experienced teacher of science, specialising in chemistry. I graduated from St Andrews University with a degree chemistry and botany. I spent my career teaching in a variety of schools as a teacher, head of science and an examiner. I retired from teaching in the summer of 2021, but continue to provide private tuition. .

In school, I was happiest carrying out good-fun experiments. I work hard to make chemistry real wold, exciting and fascinating.

In my new other life, I am training as an adult walk leader - because I too enjoy learning new things.

Availability: Most days negotiable on a week by week basis.

Experience: 36 years teaching Science in a range of different secondary schools in Yorkshire and Gloucestershire. I have taught science, physics, biology and chemistry from ages 11 to 18, from KS3 to A level. I have participated in several extra curricular projects including the building of Ski Lankan stoves, industrial visits to local firms, visits to science museums and always enjoyed working as a tutor with young people. I have regularly taken a leading role in running outdoor activities in schools.
