My name is Emma and I have been a teacher for 20 years, former Head of the English Department in a secondary school.At the moment I work as a class teacher and I am Maths Lead. I took part in many contests, festivals, symposiums, theatre competitions, both national and international and I have been awarded many distinctions .

As regards my English tuition session , I split it into two, focusing on both grammar/ spelling/ vocabulary/ punctuation and creative writing/writing for different purposes/figurative language. Attention is paid to reading comprehension as well, with a clear distinction between fiction and non-fiction.
For GCSE- English literature, my topics include most of Shakespeare`s plays and sonnets but also Dr Jekyll and Hyde, Unseen Poetry etc.

As regards Maths tuition, the student needs to understand the concept first and then a lot of practice and patience will trigger the expected results. I usually start each Maths session with a short reinforcement/revision of what was previously taught. I focus on number calculations, geometry and measures, but also on fractions, decimals and percentages, algebra and equations.

I try to make things easy. I teach, explain, and repeat until the student understands. I am available immediately and I am flexible. I am always punctual, very organised, reliable and patient .
