Information about Ella
Graduate of Spanish and Italian at University of Cambridge, tutoring in Spanish up to Alevel.
Hi, my name is Ella and I am recent graduate in Spanish and Italian at the University of Cambridge, here for your tutoring needs including Spanish GCSE and ALevel.
I have a passion for languages, having studied Spanish and French at Alevel, along with Italian from scratch during my University degree. Having lived in Madrid during my degree`s year abroad, I have first hand experience of using Spanish within the country`s native context, alongside my A* GCSE, A* Alevel and degree experience! Whilst living in Madrid, I volunteered with the Spanish Red Cross at a school and was the only non-native speaker in that context. Languages have always been my favourite subjects and so I hope to share some of my passion with you along your tutoring journey, being an encouraging and patient support to your studies.
Availability: I am available in the day time and evenings.
Willing to travel: 2 miles
Experience: During my gap year after graduating, I gained 4 months teaching experience, teaching English in a primary school in Barcelona for 2 months followed by teaching English to primary/secondary school age children in Thailand. I am therefore confident and well-equipped at teaching foreign languages.
During the pandemic I volunteered as a Coronavirus Tutoring Initiative tutor, tutoring a student in Alevel Spanish and supporting them through the lockdowns when they were missing significant parts of their education.
I have other previous experience working with school age children, volunteering in a school whilst living in Spanish on my year abroad. I actively work in outreach work for those applying to Cambridge and therefore understand how daunting the ALevels can be, especially whilst possibly managing a university application alongside.
Whilst completing my Alevels, I also regularly volunteered to tutor younger students in Spanish at my secondary school. I therefore have experience in communicating with others and ensuring that a student can overcome any struggles they may be facing with GCSE/Alevel content whilst in the classroom.
