I have Grades 6 & 8 Jazz Saxophone, Grade 4 Piano Classical, Grade 3 Flute Classical

Availability: Afternoons 1 - 8 Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and 1 - 5 Friday

Experience: I am from a musical family and as a child learned the piano and flute. I found harmonising and improvising came naturally and as an adult began going to jazz workshops to learn about the theory of what I was doing. When my flute was drowned out by Saxophones, trombones and trumpets, I decided if you can’t beat them join them! and took up the Saxophone .

I went on to study Jazz at an evening class for 3 years after which I took and passed Trinity College Jazz Saxophone Grades 6 and 8 with Distinction. I began going to blues and jazz jams and joined several different bands playing all styles from jazz to rock, pop and soul - as a soloist, and in horn sections.

Being in demand as a bassist I now dedicate my time to gigging on bass, but teaching saxophone. As well as being in a function/pub band I also plays in a blues/rock band with my husband who is a guitarist, and my varied repertoire enables me to take on Dep work. I am resident house bassist a jam night in Clacton.
