Hi! I`m Maddie.
I am an English and Spanish teacher from Manchester, England. I have lived in Barcelona for a few years where I was working as a care assistant, a children`s and adults ESL teacher and an online Spanish and English teacher. I love to read, go walking, yoga, crime thrillers and music. I speak English, Spanish, Catalan and a bit of German and French. I really like teaching languages because to talk to someone in their native language is one of the most incredible experiences you will ever have. I was never taught well at school and learned to love languages from living abroad and speaking everyday. I really want my classes to show the real joy of learning to speak in a different language so that you also fall in love with the experience.

Experience: I have been teaching for over 2 years now to a number of different age groups; the youngest being three all the way through to retired adults. I used to only teach English but have recently started my Spanish lessons as my level is between B2 and C1 (advanced) and there have been some requests. My classes so far have always been tailored to the student. Some people work well if we build the foundations of the language through grammar. Others prefer to start with topics and conversation classes. It is up to you. My goal, apart from helping you learn the language of course, is for you to enjoy the experience and really embrace it. So the class will be however you want it to be. I know some people prefer native speakers but I felt when learning Spanish that I could relate more to others that had also had to learn it as they knew how to explain something from a non-native point of view.

N.B. For all A level students; I have read The Shadow of the Wind and The House of Bernarda Alba and watched Pan`s Labyrinth. Anything else you will have to request so that I can read/watch it before your exam.
