I am a qualified teacher of French and German, and also have a City & Guilds qualification in teaching Basic Skills. I worked in secondary schools in Wolverhampton and taught French A-Level for a short time in a 6th Form college in Halesowen. I was a private tutor (teaching French and German) for about two years in the late 1990`s and have just returned to private tuition, now that I have retired. I have also supported pupils as a special needs assistant in a secondary school and enjoy working one to one with students, as this allows me to look at individual strengths and weaknesses, and to develop a learning programme based on these.

Experience: Two years of teaching French and German in secondary schools, and a number of years giving private tuition. I have also used languages in other posts that I have held - for instance, I worked for some time as an assistant to the honorary German consul in Birmingham, and as the International Relations Coordinator for Aston Business School, where languages were useful in dealing with colleagues in universities and other institutions overseas.
