Information about Olivia
Hi there! I`m Olivia, a very small undergraduate finalist currently studying English at Oxford University [contact detail removed]. This summer, I`m living in London, and while I`m here I will be around to tutor anybody who needs my help. I absolutely love my subject, but I`m also keen on many other things: history, religious studies, philosophy, music, cultural studies, and cinema and fashion, to name a few.
With a bright, bubbly, enthusiastic and encouraging attitude, boundless positivity, and a lot of faith in the potential of all pupils to exceed their own expectations, I`m hugely passionate about helping people learn and have a knack for making the difficult things seem much simpler: something I hope you`ll find useful as my tutee!
Availability: As my summer consists primarily of university coursework, I`m pretty free most days, save the odd dance class - so do contact me regarding what suits you and I`m sure we can work something out! If you`d prefer sessions over Skype instead of in person, that`s feasible too.
In terms of subjects I can cover, here`s a list:
English Literature (to A-Level)
English Language (to A-Level)
History (to A-level)
Religious Studies (to A-Level)
General Studies (A-Level)
Oxbridge admissions (especially ELAT examination prep)
Personal statements
Baccalaureate - extended essay project
Music (to GCSE)
11+ and Common Entrance
Close reading skills
English as a second language
Memory Strategy and Revision Technique
Adult learners
If you don`t see what you`re looking for there, but still think I might have the right tutoring style for you, then do get in contact anyway and we`ll see what we can come up with.
Willing to travel: 50 miles
Experience: I have been tutoring several pupils during the past academic year, both for single hour sessions and for longer "intensives" (3+ hours) in the run-up to exams. This has included tuition for both extremely able pupils who require some final consolidation of their knowledge, and for pupils who have more difficulty with their learning and require a little extra help. Beyond the subjects listed in my "availability" section, my particular tuition speciality is providing lessons in Memory Strategy and Revision Technique; something which most people find very useful across all the subjects they study.
