Information about Shilpa
I am a friendly and enthusiastic tutor. I believe it is extremely important to understand the learner and design the lesson to suit each learner`s needs and learning style. My lessons are fun and engaging wherein students are not afraid to make mistakes and are encouraged to make a sincere attempt. My lessons are designed to boost confidence in phonics, reading and comprehension through use of a variety of resources and strategies. I have more than nine years of experience of working with primary school children. I have also completed CELTA - Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults, awarded by Cambridge University. CELTA is the most widely recognised English teaching qualification in the world.
Availability: I can offer tuitions after school on all weekdays and Saturdays.

Experience: I have worked with Primary school children for more than eight years. I have worked with many children whose first language is not English. I have successfully helped both my children in their Grammar school exam preparations for English.
I have been working as a Literary Intervention Tutor since six years, in a primary school setting.
Currently I am also working as an ESOL tutor.

Shilpa manner of teaching is so wonderful and refreshing!! She’s patient and supportive, but really knows how to motivate her student. She’s great at building confidence and keeping lessons fun and engaging through a variety of activities that improve conversation, writing, and reading skills.
