Information about John
I worked in Local Government for six different county Councils over 34 years prior to my retirement at the age of 51 in Planning/Highways/Traffic etc. I have an honours degree in Civil Engineering at Cardiff University as well as being a Chartered Civil Engineer and completed my PGCE at the age of 54.
I taught/lectured in Maths and Civil Engineering part-time at various colleges throughout South Wales as well as devising and lecturing a course on Traffic Engineering Degree students at Newport University.
I am currently writing a book about my life and designed my own house when I was 19 years of age.
Availability: Available at home most evenings/weekends. Also available to travel on most days of week by prior arrangement.
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: I was a part-time lecturer in Mathematic related subjects over several years in Bridgend College, Ystrad Mynach College and Newport University.
Since that time I have helped people fight cases in in the field of Civil Engineering flooding/subsidence planning permission on a no win, no fee basis and have yet to lose a case. I have a vast experience in the field of Highways/Planning Permissions etc.
I recently helped a young student get a good grade in Maths(GCSE) after her school gave up hope on her passing. This was after only 6 (2-hour) sessions teaching 1 to 1
As this proved a very worthwhile experience I decided this year to offer help to more pupils for GCSE maths and discontinue my other roles.
I also write articles for 2 papers on the fairly regular basis.
