I am an approachable and pragmatic teacher. I aim to reassure and support. My focus is to get the best out of any student regardless of their starting point or level of confidence.

Experience: I have 8 years experience as a secondary school science teacher, specialising in chemistry. I have taught at Thomas Gainsborough School, Great Cornard Upper School and Farlingaye High School. I am currently the Head of Chemistry at Thomas Gainsborough School and have been for the past 4 years. I teach keystage 3 science, GCSE science including chemistry and A-level chemistry. I have tutored at A-level for the past 2 years and have experience of the following specifications: AQA A-level chemistry (current spec), OCR B "Salters" A-Level chemistry (current spec), OCR A A-level chemistry (Old spec) and AQA GCSE current and older spec.
I am an experienced tutor who tailors his teaching style to the needs of the student. I can focus on all areas required by the student including not only subject knowledge and exam technique but also problem solving and thinking skills. My approach is not only to mentor and facilitate but to also promote independent study as a mindset. As an experienced teacher of science I have access to a wealth of resources that can bring to bear as appropriate.
My exam results for 2019 for tutees was level 9 for GCSE Chemistry and Grade A for A level Chemistry
