Information about Jessica
I struggled with maths at school (although went on to get a first class physics degree) and know how it feels to have little confidence in your ability and I believe I can help students at any level with problems with mathematics.
I believe anything is possible and I hope to make maths fun, interesting and relevant.
I live in Glastonbury and can travel.
In an hour of tutoring I will improve your child`s confidence in their own abilities, show then new paths to understand previously difficult work and inspire a passion and curiosity in maths and/or physics. Usually my sessions overrun because we get so wrapped up in the work but I always target the areas your child would benefit most from improving. I love watching a pupil`s face light up as they realize they can do something new for the first time.
Availability: Message me :)
I am happy to travel over 5 miles but I will charge £1 for each mile over.
As a mum myself to a toddler sometimes I may need to cancel at the last minute if he is ill however I extend this flexibility to you and never charge if you need to cancel at the last minute.
Willing to travel: 15 miles
Experience: I taught physics each summer to American undergraduates and also work in local schools bringing physics activities to students.
I have been employed by Sussex University as an associate tutor to teach and mark undergraduate work.
I worked as a maths coach at a local school working with GCSE students where many of my students obtained a C with predictions of Es and Ds.
I love tutoring and teaching and most of all making maths and science interesting and relevant. I have tutored since 2012.
I have experience working with dyslexic students, gifted students and students on the autistic spectrum.
